Principal’s Message

Welcome to Athelstone School.

Located in the foothills of the Mount Lofty Ranges between the River Torrens in the north and the Black Hill / Morialta Conservation Parks in the south, we are perfectly positioned to give your child the learning experiences necessary for engagement with not only their local communities, but within a larger global context.

At Athelstone School your child will grow and succeed, whatever their passion. If they love being outdoors, our outdoor classroom, nature play, garden, and local land care projects will inspire them for stewardship of natural environments. If they love playing sport, our sports programs will keep them active whilst developing their skills. If they are musical, our instrumental music programs and specialist performing arts lessons will foster their talent in the arts and if they just love learning our approaches will nurture their curiosity and allow them to inquire into their world whilst ensuring they have embedded numeracy and literacy skills.

RIVER – Our values, just like the River Torrens, wind their way through a school culture focused on wellbeing. ‘Respect’ and ‘integrity’ are encouraged through an active ‘vision’ fostering ‘excellence’ and ‘responsibility’ in everything we do.

We know that for your child and our community to  achieve extraordinary things together, there is only one team , the Athelstone School team. Come join us on the journey.
