Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program at Athelstone School – Years 4 to 6
At Athelstone School, we strive to empower students to be a part of a technologically sophisticated society now and into the future.
We provide students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make Information and Communication Technology (ICT) work for them at school, at home and in their communities. Through the use of ICT tools, students can access information, then create and present their learning in multimodal ways in order to ask questions, discuss, reason, clarify and formulate opinions based in their learning. Our BYOD Chromebook program helps foster this.
From 2026, all students in Years 4, 5 and 6 will be using student owned, school managed
Chromebooks in the classroom to support their learning.
It is recommended that parents purchase a Chromebook via our school IT portal as other devices may not use the required operating system (ChromeOS) or have the required specifications. Once purchased from the portal, Chromebooks will be delivered to school and be pre-configured to meet our network requirements. Our IT team will set up and enrol the Chromebook into the school’s Google Domain automatically, then all students have to do is power up the device, connect to Wi-Fi, and use.
Portal details will be emailed to families on request via the main school email dl.0419.info@schools.sa.edu.au
